The choice of single colors and highlights is extensive. The range of artistry
from extremely conservative to very artistic is unlimited. A single process
can be lovely in its solidarity or greatly enhanced by a highlight or lowlight.
I have broken down the different colors and their qualities.
Blonde: The color of hair
that looks blessed by the sun. It can be as light as Platinum White or as
warm as honey. A single process makes hair a unique color and requires consistent
maintenance. Highlights are a more natural and subtle look. They can be sprinkled
through for a sparkling effect or done chunky for a more dramatic dimensional
effect. They are great for enhancing a particular haircut. Depending on the
thickness and the placement of the highlights, maintenance can vary from often
to whenever you desire them again. I also offer a base lightener with Highlights.
It takes only five minutes and lifts the natural color just a bit to enhance
the overall lightness. This is an option for those who like to be light with
less maintenance because you can come in between highlights for a base lightener
and gloss.
Brunette: Brown is the most versatile of colors.
You can have a light, medium, or dark brown base and spice it up with a golden
or reddish gloss. Which ever you choose, when the gloss washes out you can
then try a different one. Highlights and Lowlight can also add another whole
dimension to your color. The variations are infinite so whatever your moods
indulge yourself. Maintenance of this color is usually less often.
Red:
The color of extreme vibrancy. A bright Copper to a
deep Auburn, these reds greatly compliments a vivacious feisty personality.
Red is a color that requires consistent monthly maintenance. If you are trying
it for the first time, you may have to alter your wardrobe and make-up a bit.
Grey: To many this color is
our enemy. Some have a few strands and others have almost completely lost
all of their natural pigment. No matter how little or much, not too many people
want to see it. What many don't realize is that with a single process, grays
can add different shades. This gives color a more natural look and some stubborn
grays can give the illusion of highlights. For some who don't want to deal
with roots all the time, a blending of Highlights and Lowlights can add life
and sparkle to dull graying hair.
Color line products: I use two elite color lines
for my color processes. They are Framesi and Goldwell. I chose them because
they are very low in Amonia and give great shine and vibrancy to the hair.
I am able to match very closely to a natural pigment which is great for corrective
color. The color also lasts and keeps the hair in beautiful condition.
